Gary Solka has been in Austin for 32 years. His wife, Shelley is a speech therapist at AISD.
They have two daughters, one in college and the other, a senior at Austin HS. Gary was “pulled in” by HFLA’s mission of helping Jewish people through financial hardships. He brings his expertise of marketing and development. By day, he works at Wells Fargo Financial Advisors and finds this work fulfilling. Gary enjoys assisting people with financial education and strategies for creating a stronger, more stable financial future.
Jerrod Kogut is a third generation Austinite who grew up in the Jewish community.
He is a veteran of the Austin Kosher Chili Cookoff as an organizer and part of an award-winning chili team. He is a recent recipient of the Shalom Austin Hineni award. Jerrod currently works as a solution consultant for an eCommerce platform, helping all types of merchants to launch or grow their businesses online. Jerrod enjoys camping, hiking volcanoes, and exploring national parks. He is energized to help HFLA further its important mission.
Neena Husid, a long-time Austin resident, is a professional writer and has vast marketing experience in the non-profit and Jewish professional worlds. Her partner, Hillary, is an ARC family practice doc. They are parents, grandparents and proud owners of Lucy, the wonder dog.
Neena describes herself as a huge Astros fan and enjoys playing Mahjong. Neena finds the idea of offering an interest-free “hand up” loan compelling and is looking forward to helping the organization where needed.
